Was looking on Amazon at purchasing some tamarind paste, only wanting a small container for my first go around to try it out. Is the Tamicon brand good? There are a lot of conflicting reviews. So, thought I’d ask here.
Tamarind is commonly used in a concentrated form in Indian, Thai, Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. Add to chutneys, curries, soups, and sauces. Try in poultry, fish, lentil, and rice dishes. It can be used as an ingredient in tropical drinks.
Try your local Mexican grocery for inexpensive and small quantities. I have tried that brand so I cannot comment on it. Mine was just in plastic tub with a lid and hand written sticker.
