This looks really interesting! Thinking this could be part of a sweet BBQ sauce, it's used as a base for veal juis / sauce Think I will give it a try on ribs. Never tasted it, a 200ml bottle is on its way, apparently it's like nothing you have ever tasted before.

I rubbed Steen's 100% Pure Cane Syrup on corned beef as precursor to my pastrami rub. It seemed to come out pretty hot. I need to do it again, but only half so I can tell what is really going on.

I've tasted it in Alaska. Very much more savory than sweet! Some call it a "mineral" taste. I thought it was bitter. I'll stick with our homemade maple syrup.

Got the syrup today, it's a very unusual flavour. It's been heavily concentrated, it's sweet, consistency of honey, but with a genuinely smoky / almost fruity flavour. I think this is going to work really well as a glaze for ribs! Will try it and report back.

EdF Results are in! A genuinely fantastic ingredient. Substitute for molasses (or honey, or maple syrup type things) in BBQ sauces and you have a great addition! It is a sweet syrup but has a smokey / woody note. Threw some St Louis on this morning and just had them! I am pretty blown away. I think this could go on neat too!
