I had to grab a store-bought sauce this weekend. Tried the Kentucky bourbon one from Heinz. It's actually not half bad. Definitely not KC sauce, much less sweet and a bit tart.

You hit the nail on the head Jon Solberg , they do a tremendous amount of research and tasting to determine mass market appeal. Having said that, ketchup is generally 40% sugar, what’s the label say is in this stuff?

Wife and I picked up a sampler pack earlier this year... bold and spicy, Kentucky bourbon, mustard sauce, and a Hawaiian one if I remember correctly.
we and her parents all had our preferences of the 4 different ones but they were all good.
It was actually kind of fun to do a sample of them.

I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

Those of us from Pittsburgh appreciate the interest in Heinz products. Of course, it’s now owned by Mr. Buffet and his consortium of diversified investors, so maybe it doesn’t matter anymore. Anywho, I do like their sauces and they serve well when needed.

I'm still not out from under that rock. Last conversation was about KC masterpiece and I still have not tried it. I'm strictly an SBR, Stubbs or home made guy. I'm not opposed to them but only have ever used those as long as I can think back. Long ago I used bullseye and people at work ask for that. Mostly old timers set on their tasty ways.
i needs to get out more I guess.
