I have never had it but was told that my recipe for leftover brisket sandwiches tastes like it.
1 cup catsup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 stick butter
3 ribs celery, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced,
1 small can fresh green peppers - you have to decide whether you want hot, medium or mild
1 teaspoon ancho chili pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon A1
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon course pepper
Sauce veggies. When soft, put in the rest of the ingredients. Bring to boil and then low simmer for at least an hour. Stir. I actually take 1/2 the sauce, done, let it cool and blend. My wife like it to remain chunky. When I looked on line for replication recipes, this looks close and the unblended actually looks very close in texture to it. For a large brisket I double the recipe. I put leftover brisket - slices, pulled and chunks - in the sauce and reheat in a crock pot. I then put it on a soft bun and make sure I have lots of napkins.
