    Food writer dodges a question

    This is one of the articles I found that I clipped and saved; these are early '80s. This writer is asked a question about NC BBQ, and instead of answering it... well, just look:

    Quite a dodge for sure.

    ”mostly pork” Only pork, whole hog.

    Simple sauce. ACV, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper.

    Haha yeah her sauce recipe has nothing to do with NC style BBQ sauce. Well, in theory I guess it could be her spin on the tomato based sauce of western NC, but its far from the vinegar based sauce of eastern NC...

      Yep, that’s it. Her basic answer was, “Beats me. Here’s a bbq sauce recipe.” And it’s just a generic sauce!

      I like how the barbecue in N.C. is made FROM pork and not WITH pork. I guess it's mostly frankfurters.
