Wow. I have no idea what took me so long to try this, especially as I really enjoy Asian food. This stuff is legitimately amazing! I have not been this wow'ed by a sauce since I tried Black Swan's Beso del Fuego.
Bachan's has been describes as a teriyaki-leaning BBQ-esque sauce, which is fairly close. The "pepperishness" of an American BBQ sauce is replaced by the onion and especially the ginger notes. But what really strikes me is that it is the perfect combination of soy and mirin flavors. Absolutely perfect. (For those who have never used mirin, it is a Japanese cooking wine that is an umani sweet syrup.) It's also relatively thin....not so much as Texas-style BBQ sauce, but no where near as thick as a Kansas City-style sauce.
It is so good....I drizzled it over my Korean-style eggs and rice this morning. Took that stuff to the next level.
Definitely want to explore using this in some dishes! I can see this working excellently as a dipping sauce or a glaze. It is a bit pricey, though. At my local HEB a 17 oz bottle runs $8, but certainly worth it.

Ingredients:
Soy Sauce (Water, Soybeans, Wheat, Salt), Cane Sugar, Mirin (Water, Rice, Koji Seed, Sea Salt), Tomato Paste, Organic Ginger, Green Onion, Rice Vinegar, Organic Garlic, Sea Salt, Organic Toasted Sesame Oil
