    How long does BBQ Sauce last in the fridge?

    Just came across a mason jar full of ketchup-based sauce. Can't remember when I made it. I never worry about the components going bad, but not sure about this. No mold or anything odd going on. What say ye?

      If it didn't "hiss" when the lid was cracked and nothing growing on the underside of the lid, taste test comes next. Ok? Keep.

            Mine lasts about a month before it picks up an off-flavor from the refrigerator.

              There is the taste test.
              In my kitchen I answer the following questions. If I can get more. How much does it cost to get more and how important is the item compared to my health? Usually, healthy life wins over, I want to eat this for dinner!

                Ive had a quart of my homemade ketchup based sauce hide for 6-7 months once and it was still most excellent. Last week I used some KC Masterpiece that I am sure has been in the shop fridge for a year….Im not dead.

                It will last quite a while unless you make a homemade with something like chopped onions added.

                  I have wondered about this as well more about commercial sauces, since I put homemade sauces in the freezer pretty quickly.

                  I leave commercial BBQ Sauces in the fridge for months. There's always a squeeze bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's or Blues Hog Original for husband, although I prefer Blues Hog Smoky Mountain (or Dreamland BBQ sauce especially for pork).

                  Not dead yet, from BBQ sauce or anything else, luckily.
