Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Man. This is really close to the sauce I make up from the recipe. I have some in the fridge, the only difference I can tell is that I don’t add any smoke… and if you’re worried about added liquid smoke, it’s far, far down the ingredient list. It’s barely noticeable.
And, I have always used tamarind paste in my version!
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I'm with you, no liquid smoke in my sauce. But consumers want and expect it to smell/taste like smoky BBQ sauce so they can make crock pot pulled pork and it tastes smoked.
Yep. As a commercial venture, I think it needs it to be successful. I will say that it has the minimum amount necessary, which is a satisfactory compromise for me. It had better be, I have 3 bottles of it!
Did you find the commercial version to be more/less/same level of sweetness? I made the recipe along with the recipe for the ketchup and steak sauce, but didn't find it to be as sweet as most commercial KC Style BBQ sauces (even with the additional amount of honey)..
It’s about the same, maybe a tad sweeter. When I make the recipe I use 1/2 cup of honey, this is probably the full 3/4 cup. My home made recipe (at least the one I have in the fridge) is a little bit more acid, too. I use as much lemon juice as I can squeeze out, if there’s any left over I just squeeze it into the sauce. No sense in wasting lemon juice!
Try fixing someone's car or computer...there is a waiting list for me in our neighborhood. Mom even coming over next weekend so I can change her breaks and wheel bearings.
Would love to try the BBQ sauce but my wife is allergic to corn and this, unfortunately, contains corn syrup. My go to is Black Swan original. It's superb.
Very interesting. My wife has a pretty severe intolerance to cornmeal products but not corn. Unfortunately, we find out some things have cornmeal after the fact. Dr’s have told her since it’s not an allergy she just should avoid cornmeal.
My last cook I did one rack with MH and one with BS Original. They’re very different flavor profiles. I preferred one, Mrs Mosca preferred the other. Not saying who chose what, they’re both great. But different, and different people like different things.
