Numbers showing up as internal links?

In the topic Let the Arguments Begin!, Meathead posts rankings for San Antonio and Austin, that show up for me as active links to other channels.




Later in the topic, gboss comments on a reply, and the same thing happens.



All these links are active.

A week or so ago, while replying to someone, I had it happen to me; I tried retyping my response, but it didn’t change the random link. I ended up rephrasing my reply. I don’t remember the specifics, though.

EDIT: iPad, iOS 15.6, if that is important.

I've noticed this before as well when using #

i now just type the actual word number instead.
I hate when something thwarts my laziness ☹

I have had that happen recently, and I'm pretty sure I had typed "#1."

edit: Yep, I just confirmed it and had to edit to include the parentheses. This is what happens when I type "#2 - #10":

Yes, I noticed that about a week ago whenever I’d use the # sign followed by a number. It types in a random channel link instead of what you’re trying to type. If I try to type “the pound sign, #, followed by 2, here’s what happens.

It works if you leave a space between them.

According to vBulletin support, this is expected behaviour and can't really be changed. There are workaround suggestions in this post, seems that the easiest would be to put a space between the octothorpe and the number.

I am wondering if Ray can put in a word censor/filter that changes "#" to "# " (space following) to change this behavior. Probably not though.

I myself first noticed this behavior a couple of weeks ago, and then went back and edited my own post to take the # out of some numbered bullets I had typed.

I am looking into this. It seems to be a built in "feature" of the software. A very annoying feature. I will see what I can figure out and disable it.
