Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Actually that’s a really good idea. There’s a couple of places here that serves a good authentic gyros sandwich but like you say it’s almost impossible to re-create at home. I’ll give this a try, thanks for the great idea!!
Oh man there's nothing better than an authentic gyro. We have a place in town called Gus's gyros that makes a gyro that is just off the charts. Just like Meathead mentions, the lamb is on a vertical rotisserie and they shave it off while you wait. Here's a link to their gyro menu page: http://greasybag.com/MENU_1.html
The Big Fat Cow is a mixture of lamb and ground beef and it's simply unbelievable. The place is attached to a gas station so you have to get over that but the gyros are just incredible. I'll try Meatheads recipe but it's going to be tough to beat out a Gus's gyro.
