Aiding and abetting foodborne illness may be lettuce’s biggest offense. But it doesn’t have much else going for it, either, and there’s a reasonably strong case that we would be better off without it. Tamar Haspel has been researching and reporting on food issues for many years, and here she makes the case for why we should stop eating lettuce.

Interesting article. Lettuce is only in my diet as a meat delivery mechanism. I actually prefer cabbage in a salad.

She lost me at solar farms. We have them. By the time they’re finished the technology is old. There are farms here where they actually scraped all the top soil off to reduce weed growth. Herbicides knee deep because they’re almost impossible to mow around. Oh and they’re ugly too!

And nevermind the huge heat index a field full of solar panel adds back to the atmosphere. I read an article that documented a rise in storm intensity near areas where there's a lot of panel farms. They would be better if installed over parking lots.
