Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

If I include the places he mentions after the tour, I’ve been to twelve on the list, and will click off a few more at the next Meat Up. If I count Terry Black’s where I only tasted other’s food the count is thirteen.

Great article and list. Been to 6 of them. All very good.......except for City Market. It was not very good. Maybe we just got there later in the day and their BBQ had just dried out.
Glad to see Barbs-B-Q make his list. Best BBQ I've had in Texas. First time I went there and the second.
I've been to a lot on the list but by no means all (didn't bother to count - lazy). Pretty much any place mentioned is going to be good.
Sunday Brunch at Burnt Bean is amazing! I've been once and almost went into a food coma as I drove home afterwards.
I'm glad that Redbird in Port Neches got a shout out - they really are top notch. Drove by today with my friends from Nacogdoches but the line was too long for the limited lunch break that I had. My friends were here having me neuter two pups for them.
Well, their journey is going to hit a sudden halt when they get to Louie Mueller’s on Tuesday and discover that it is closed Sunday, Monday AND Tuesday.
