On February 26, 2026, The CPSC recalled over 3 million wire grill cleaning brushes because the wire bristles can break off, posing an ingestion hazard and risk of serious internal injuries. Meathead has long cautioned the use of metal bristle brushes for this very reason.

Weber quickly issued a voluntary recall of 6 of their metal wire bristle brushes, and will replace them with a similar model of their Nylon Cold Cleaning Brushes. How well does this new brush work?

Thanks, I just put one in the dumpster like the wire one you had pictured today, since the recall, even though it was not a weber product, wire bristles are hard to digest.
