I've been using a Lodge scrubbing pad for years, although the links have a round cross-section. No worries about bristles coming off, and it cleans up fine in the dishwasher. Having a handle like this would make the job easier.
Just me a thinkin, I still use a wire brush. Cuz I always rub the grates with an oil damped clump of paper towelin after I scrub the grates down. Don't know if if I'm playin with fire or self cleanin it proper like. Seems ok.
Me too. I still use my wire bristle brushes. I also use bristle free chain link style. They clean the top of the grates OK but not in between the grate tines. For safety, I clean my grates both before and after every cook. My grates are kept sparkling clean so that I can spot any bristle detritus clinging to the grate. I just bought an extra bristle brush before they disappear from the market. It had a warning that came with it: "WATCH FOR LOOSE BRISTLES!" It really did.

I remembered this old thread so I looked it up. I've had one of these Grill Fighter Brushes for a few months now with a good amount of use. I give it a Very Good and High Rating. It wasn't cheap but neither are Doctor visits.
