Weber Spirit EP-435 Gas Grill Review, by Max Good

The big news out of Weber World for 2025 is a "reimagined" new lineup of Spirit, Weber's most popular gas grill. The new Spirits are offered in a variety of two, three and four burner configurations priced from $449 to $1,099 and available in LP and NG models. We tested the Weber Spirit EP-435 Gas Grill, a 4 burner model that includes a side burner.
I had a Spirit that lasted for 30 years. When I decided to replace it I bought a fancy-schmancy Broil King that was several times the price but with half the performance. I ended up giving it to a neighbor after about 5 years. I've had a hankering for a new gas grill and the Spirit fits the budget nicely.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
If I was going to get a gasser, I’d get a Spirit. I don’t have any idea where I’d put it, or what I’d use it for that I don’t already use the charcoal or griddle for. But it’s the one I would get.
I've been in the same boat about getting another gasser. It's been a long time. But once in a while I think how nice it'd be to push a button a be able to grill a steak with a great sear that I can't get on the pellet....then I think 'but I have a griddle and a cast iron pan', so round and round my thoughts go.
Yeah, exactly. I casually window shop FB Marketplace, and Spirits are pretty common for around $100, in both the new and old styles. But then I think about wasting $100 on something that does exactly what other stuff I already have does, plus it will take up space on a deck that is already overcrowded.
Doesn’t mean I don’t still want it, just that I want the $100 + the space more.
A couple models are on sale for 20% off right now.
I am looking at gas grills. I don't care for the rough cast iron grates, but I think I can get some knock-off stainless grates.
Looking at Weber and Napoleon. Considered some of the more expensive models for longevity, but I don't know. 🤔.
