Sneak Peek: Meater Pro XL Wireless Meat Thermometer Review
The Meater Pro XL is the latest wireless food thermometer from Apption Labs, a company owned by Traeger. The Meater Pro XL features four probes, each of which has five separate temperature sensors along the probe's length to mitigate errors caused by less-than-perfect placement in the food. This permits you to monitor four different foods simultaneously.
I have the original Meater. Stopped using it because the range was ridiculously short making it almost useless. I went to the TempSpike from Thermoworks when that first came out. Way better range but the temps haven’t been accurate or even consistent in the variances making it very hard to use. Maybe I need to step up to one of these or maybe the one from Combustion I think it is?
Yes it’s that price that hold me back from buying. I only use these for rotisserie cooking and I just don’t do that enough to justify the cost. Although I did a roto cook this past Sunday and as usual struggled with the TempSpikes. 🤷♂️
