Enjoy a sneak peek of this review I just completed for food grade tweezers which used to be primarily used for plating in high end restaurants but have become increasingly popular. in home kitchens and at the grill.
Traditional tongs can make grasping and flipping smaller or more delicate food a challenge. Used in professional kitchens, long-handled tweezers are an ideal alternative and are becoming one of my favorite tools. Here's my full review.

I've been using one's like these (high grade stainless not needing the coating) for almost a year, and agree they are more often the preferred tool for ease of use. It may be difficult for those who haven't used them, but the best way I can think to express how better they feel is to imagine them feeling like extensions of your fingers in ease of function. Only the most unwieldly objects don't benefit.
I bought a pair just like these on Amazon, opted for the SS without the coating. I like your analogy, they are like my fingers and offer better control of food items. It can be a bit clunky with regular tongs. I still click my tweezers a few times…..😉
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Other useful bits...
KitchenAid 7-qt Pro Line stand mixer
A Black & Decker food processor that I can't seem to murder
A couple of immersion blenders, one a "consumer" model & the other a "high end" Italian thing. Yes, the Italian one is a bit better, but only marginally
Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 8-qt + accessories like egg-bite & egg holders
All-Clad pots & pans, along with some cast iron...everything from 7" Skookie pans to 8.5qt Dutch ovens
Weber GBS griddle, pizza stone, and wok
Knives range from Mercer to F. Dick to "You spent how much for one knife? One knife?!" LOL
I’ve been using tweezers for years, especially my curved & offset ones…but mine are between 6 & 8 inches. I like the idea of the longer ones. I just might need to pick up a set.
