Traeger Pro 22 Pellet Cooker, by Bill McGrath

The Traeger Pro-22 is a mid-sized pellet smoker with straightforward controls but no interface with smart apps that reside on phones and tablets. While lacking in some of the common modern features, this unit is a good option for the price-conscious consumer. Check out our review to learn more.

    good review,
I enjoy the Wi-Fi on my Traeger Timberline 850, but Wi-Fi is unnecessary to cook a good BBQ or smoke a brisket.

I agree. I like my Gen 1 and have been using it more than my Weber and PBC because of the heat. It is nice to be able to monitor and even change the temp inside with the A/C. I like the digital instead of the analog, also. To me, that is more important than Wi-Fi, which is more of a luxury.

Agreed. I've only ever used Wi-Fi on cookers when doing reviews on ones that had it, for the purpose of the review. I don't use it myself, never cared to. I do use RF remote thermometers though.

I burn pellets in the mini Solo Stove, for ambience. I will stay with charcoal and/or wood for cooking.
I only have pellets because I could not pass on a #40 bag for $11.99.

Yeah that's a good deal on pellets. I've never heard of someone burning pellets for ambiance. Is it cheaper than firewood for your circumstances?

Huskee Under the (back then) canvas gazeebo. Small twigs and pellets I could get an hour or more.
Made n painted a small stand it sits on, from a crapped out Table top Ice maker. Vented all around and very safe.
