This is an interesting concept and the review is excellent. I am concerned that when the
One-Touch Cleaning System (bottom vents) in the kettle need replacing, one will be faced with a very difficult task of having to take the Venom off, changing the blades and then replacing it. -
Other than not having to drill a hole in the bowl, is there any advantage to using this over a thermostatic fan? It sounds like once this is installed, you really don't want to take it off. With a fan, you can attach it when you want it (r when making ribs, pulled pork, etc), and easily remove it when you're done and don't want it (when making vortex chicken, for example). Also it seems that it has more moving parts, which opens up the possibility for more failure.
It sounds like an interesting concept. But again, not sure of the advantage of this over a fan.Comment

I wonder if you can still use the ash sweeps to clean ashes out of the grill, with the Spider Venom hooked onto the ash sweep area with its servo mechanism...
I can see the utility of this if you just absolutely don't want to drill a hole and install a fan adapter on your kettle, but don't like that it is permanently affixed to the kettle. We had some weather last winter around 4-5F. I wonder how the electronics and display handle a hard freeze like that. Then again, I guess all pellet grills have a control board and a display that survives sub-zero weather for many people.Comment
