Weber Griddle 28", by Max Good

    LINK: https://amazingribs.com/ratings-revi...weber-griddle/

Weber aims to capitalize on the rising popularity of backyard griddling with their new, stand-alone griddles, griddle inserts and suite of griddle accessories. In recent years Weber had a couple high profile roll outs that, uncharacteristically, seemed forced into the market before ready. And boy did they take a shellacking on the internet. These griddles are bulletproof. Read our review to learn why.

The link is taking me to the review of the Blackstone pizza oven.

I bet Max Good wished he had the Traeger griddle with its recessed griddle to avoid melting plastic bags. That has to be frustrating to have super-handy shelves be functionally useless.

I still melted a bag (or two) with the Traeger, larger shelves helps but only if you move stuff away far enough

This looks like a nice griddle. My dad is loving his full griddle insert for his Genesis, I don’ think he takes it out anymore and just uses it for all of his grill cooks.

      Thanks for the review!

Speaking from experience griddle cooking can get addictive. My kettles have been pretty sad lately.

Huskee I agree. I have the full size insert for my Sprit. I don't remember when I used the grates. Griddle and Kettle. Of course the PBJ when called for.

Huskee - yep…I asked my dad today if he has used the grates since getting the griddle insert and he hasn’t. Today was the first time I had the chance to cook on it….wow! This was so cool to use. You talk about kicking up the MCS!

I'm betting that if one puts a couple of washers on each of the bolts that the side shelves attaches to to create an air gap between the side shelf and the griddle body that would lessen the heat transfer so the shelves might remain cool enough to set most stuff on.

From the reviews and comments that I read about almost every griddle; all the side shelves really get hot when the griddle is used. Good idea to try.
