Slow 'N Sear Travel Kettle Grill Review, by Max Good
    Link: https://amazingribs.com/ratings-reviews/grills/slow-n-sear-travel-kettle/

The portable, 18" Slow 'N Sear Travel Kettle Grill design draws inspiration from Weber's Jumbo Joe portable charcoal grill while adding a few tweaks and useful additions, most notably the Slow 'N Sear Charcoal Insert. Whether stationed on a small patio, cruising in your RV, or on the go to a weekend cabin rental, if you only plan to have one little charcoal grill, take a serious look at Slow ‘N Sear’s Travel Kettle. Their signature SnS charcoal insert greatly expands Travel Kettle's versatility, enabling a wider variety of menu possibilities. Man, we need a battle Royale comparison between the SNS travel kettle, the Weber traveler, the PKGO, and the portable Masterbuilt.

Is the price figured into your rating? The Weber Smokey Joe is $45 and the SNS is $180.

As indicated in my review, Travel Kettle is similar to Weber's Jumbo Joe, MSRP $89. It has features, such as the stainless steel cooking grates, that merit the higher price tag. Jumbo Joe is an excellent, iconic Weber Kettle. Out of the box it is a great portable charcoal grill. Add the $45 SnS Charcoal Basket to enhance its 2 zone capability and expand menu possibilities. Both great choices with similarities and distinct differences.

Max Good My mistake I listed the Smokey Joe price. I still think $180 is high enough to bump down the rating. Of course I've never been hands on with the SNS travel grill.

I view Travel Kettle as a Deluxe Model.

Attjack It’s $160 if you get it without the charcoal basket which is the version I’ve been eyeing up. I know it’s only another $20 but I think it would be one of those things that seems like I would use it but probably won’t.

Andrrr To me, charcoal baskets are definitely optional. You can get the same results with or without them.

I bought one for a long RV trip in June and used the heck out of it. It now resides on our porch and is perfect for hot 'n fast cooks like steaks and burgers for 2. I use it a couple of times a week and it functions better than advertised. My only complaint is that the sweep handle is a little loosey-goosey and should be redesigned or tweaked. Very well-built, as you would expect, and worth the coinage. Thanks for the review, Max!

There's a trick to assembling the sweep handle. Everything has to line up just right then you twist the handle and snap a small tab in place. I added that to my review.

Yeah, I get how it goes together, I just don't like it as it can come loose fairly easily.

Once I snapped it in place properly it was stable and solid. If yours is wobbling, I suspect it needs further attention.

Good read. However, I was hoping for some feedback about actually cooking on the grill...
