Love that. Older books had to inform. The much older version of Amazing Ribs. 😎👍

Many of our books are online now.
The notes books and paper stuffed in the corner are special, family recipes from my wife’s grandma.

Most of my recipes come from the internet these days.
I still have a few books from back in the day that I still use for favorite recipes..
Most of us are probably familiar with this guy..

      My favorite cookbook is homemade.
For the longest time, all of my recipes printed from the internet, or clipped from newspapers, were just in a pile. No real organization, so I would have to dig to find recipes in the pile. One year when they were little, my kids organized them all in a binder for me...

My preferred general cookbook is James Beard American Cookery.

My favorite bbq cookbook Paul Kirk Championship BBQ. I like Meathead’s as well. Both are very technical but I like that. Cooking is my therapy.

Just finished up “Franklin Barbecue a Meat Smoking Manifesto” and truly had a hard time putting it down. It could be that I’m away on vacation and so badly crave some smoky, delicious food that seems nowhere to be found in the DR. But my guess it’s that the read was more a philosophy and ideology to keep in mind when building a fire, maintaining a fire, cooking and serving and that the recipes were not the main focus of the book. I truly felt like a horse being led to water and then choosing to take a a large, wonderful drink. Looking forward to getting home and firing up the cookers and using my new findings.
