I like reading cookbooks, saving the recipes I like best to Paprika, but that's a formidable one to get through. Like the Annie Lamott book on writing, Bird by Bird, The Food Lab has to be appreciated Dish by Dish.

It is arguably *better* than "the Wok", and that's saying something, It's essential if you want to know why you're doing something. It's got recipes, but I view it more as a reference book than a cookbook. You should buy it now.

That book is like my bible. There is so much interesting information in that book. It is like the modern day version of the Joy of Cooking.

The Food Lab is the best cook book out there. IMHO.
