Thanks for giving it a try and reporting back, Mark V -- it's good to know what the local crowd thinks. It might be that a person has to grow up with a dish to be able to truly enjoy it. Lutefisk, lefse, grits, stinky cheeses, durian fruit ... lots of examples.

How cool! Yes, this is a really odd dish in terms of ingredients, but turns out good. It was VERY popular in the 1980’s, served at many dinner tables on a Friday in Sweden back in the day.
Back then the novelty was having peanuts and bananas in a main dish - unheard of!
It’s very easy to make, just put the ingredients in a casserole pan and into the oven. Serve with rice.
I remember I liked it, it was a kid friendly dish, but I haven’t had it for 35 years at least. Sounds like I need to try it again!
