Mississippi State U Cheese Store Open for 2025

Just received notice that they are now open for business again for the Winter, and I just placed my cheese order for this year. If you haven’t had their cheese, especially the Vallagret or Edam you are missing out.

The only problem is that no matter how hard I try, I never draw down my stock to something that is reasonable. I’ll decide to just plow right through something, like the caramelized onion cheddar that I’ve been geeking out on lately, and before I finish it something like this comes up.

This is wonderful cheese, as are the MSU folks in their Customer Service Department.

When I contacted them last year about our change of address due to having to evacuate after Hurricane Helene, they sent me a double order and a note wishing us well. I shared the results of their largesse with another hurricane-affected family.

Thanks for sharing this. I bought the vallagret last year and I was indifferent with it, kind of "meh" to me. I wanted to try the cheddar and edam but I forget why I didn't/couldn't.

But I'm happy to report I just ordered the cheddar and the edam! Sad that it will not ship until Nov 10th, I'd love to try it much sooner. Patience is a virtue I do not often possess.

I got the email as well. I'm up in the air about how much to get this year. I really like the elam and vallagret, and I think I want the cheddar and jalapeño pepper. But how much cheese can one man eat lol. I know some of it can be frozen though...
