This morning I did this fun recipe inspired by something more complex by Claire Lower of Life Hacker. I made a slice of toast, buttered it, and placed it on a plate. Then I poured 2 tablespoons of REAL maple syrup into a coffee cup, cracked an egg, and plopped it into the syrup. I put the cup in the microwave for 30 secs on high, took a peak, added another 10 secs until whites were set, and poured it over the toasted bread. The yolk was runny, the white was firm, and the whole thing tasted like crunchy pancakes.

I like to toast a whole-grain slice of toast and spread 1/4 of a small avocado on it. Then I top it with a fried egg, a couple of tablespoons of cottage cheese, 1/2 teaspoon of chili crisp, and sliced scallions. Sometimes I add some black beans too.

I do the bird in a nest. Take a shot glass n cookie cutter out the center of a slice of bread. Mayo both sides. Into the C.I. Crack the fresh egg carefully into the hole. Flip when it gets close to your desired doneness. Quick n easy. Mayo works much better for crispiness.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I seen Claire’s recipe. It looks great. I have maple syrup… I have bourbon barrel aged maple syrup, actually.
I can’t do it. I can only have hard sugars on special occasions.
I was at the doctor today. My A1C is 5.7, and my weight is at 221. That’s 99. One more pound and I’m down an even 100.

Mosca , first congrats on the work you’ve done, excellent man! Second, when I saw what Meathead & others have shown I always think with out the bread. The bread does ya in a lot more than a little maple syrup. Third, I either forgot what was third or forgot that there was a third. 🕶

I love the idea but I just can’t get comfortable with microwaving eggs. Just feels like I end up with a “bad” egg or it will explode on me.Last edited by STEbbq; June 16, 2023, 12:27 PM.
