Meat Church Beef Party Ribs: Anyone made these?

    Hello everyone,

I just picked up a couple racks of beef back ribs at Costco. I think Matt Pittmen's Party Beef Rib recipe looks good, but have never tried them. His recipe includes instruction to make bourbon brown suger BBQ sauce.

Anyone here make anything like these? Any feedback, recommendations or suggestions?

    Ingredients:
    Bourbon BBQ sauce Ingredients
    • 2 C ketchup
    • 1 C brown sugar
    • 6 ounces of a wheated bourbon
    • 1 T worcestershire sauce
    • 1 T Meat Church Holy Cow
    • 1 T black pepper
    Ingredients:Tools:
    • Instant Read Thermometer
    • Heavy duty aluminum foil
    • Disposable steam pan
    • Prepare the Smoker
Prepare your smoker to a temperature of 250. In this video we used a Mill Scale offset smoker with post oak. Mesquite, hickory or pecan would also be good choices.
    • Prepare the ribs
Trim any excess fat from the ribs.
    • Season all sides each rib with Meat Church Holy Gospel.
    • Allow the seasoning to adhere for at least 15 minutes, but preferably for 1 hour.
    • Smoke the ribs
    • Place the ribs in the smoker meat side up.
Smoke the ribs until they are a beautiful mahogany color and at least 170 degrees internal temperature.
Remove the ribs from the smoker and place them in a pan.
Mix in the bbq sauce, honey and pats of butter. Mix and toss the ribs until completely coated.

This would be great for church folk. They REQUIRE sauce.

          Ha!

I got cha. I see these as finger food appetizers. Almost like sauced burnt ends. My ribs are not sirloin ribs as called for in the recipe, but choice back ribs from Costco. In the recipe, the sirloin ribs are cut into bite sized pieces. Since the back ribs are smaller with less meat, I'll just cut them into individual ribs.

What do you think of the recipe? Yes I know, sauce. But... I like the looks of the sauce recipe.

          Respectfully,
          JD

Never made these, but I likes the meat Church rubs. I may try this but do it with a chuckie, burnt ends style.
