Wow, thank you, wrgilb . It will be great to hear your impressions of the Searwood. I'm still playing with the idea of getting a pellet cooker.

Right now I need to get back to our home (leaving next week--yay!) and set it to rights from the hurricane damage, now that the roads are finally repaired and the downed trees along said roadsides are getting removed as I type this. At this point the roads are completely blocked by huge heavy logging equipment and trucks 6 days a week as they scurry to get those mountainsides above the roads cleared of dangerously leaning and downed trees. They plan on having the portion of the mountain roads that we need to access done in a few more days.

A Searwood as a reward from me to me might be just the ticket at the end of my chores as I get the house back in shape and debulked so I can carry household goods donations from our house to the local donation centers.

Glad you are finally getting home. What a life changing experience. I have friends whose minister daughter home was affected as well. I hope your return is safe and lasting.

I too am contemplating a pellet smoker (love the convenience). The high sear isn't too important for me (nice but not critical), and I'm considering the camp chef woodwind pro 24 and now the Searwood 600. The biggest issues AFAIK are electronics and blower/hopper motors. I'd hate to spend a grand (or so) and have the machine die on me after a few months.

I see that they have raised the price of both Searwood models by $100.00. One can only speculate the reason, but I've got a pretty god idea, which I will keep to myself.

Quick Update: I'm still really enjoying the Weber Searwood I've had for about 6-months. I have very few complaints. Here's a quick photo from Mom's Day. Tri-tip, picanha with some grilled and roasted veggies plus grilled bread and pesto humus.

Looks fantastic. Cooked to perfection. I love both meats.

I’m thinking about going after the Searwood as my first pellet cooker. I’ve got my KBQ for when I want the volume and flavor of the stick burner… but as I get busier and busier, the set it and forget it nature of the pellet grill keeps calling me. SWMBO has given me the mandate to go by a pellet grill for myself as a delayed Father’s day present… in my eyes, starting with a Platinum medal winner feels like I can’t go wrong (shoutout Max Good )! Any dissenting opinions?…

I got to play around with the Searwood at the Webber factory during our visit with Meathead and I really liked it! If I were to ever get a pellet cooker that would definitely be the direction I went. But I think my wife would be very angry with me for getting a fifth cooker in our backyard…

Y'all are selling me on this. I posted in the review comments for it, but probably should have searched the board first.

Long story short, I currently have a WSM and Kettle Grill and due to declining mobility and back issues, I'm looking for something easier to manage.

So, all that said and based on the comments and pics, this looks like it could be a respectable replacement for those two cooking units in one. I primarily use the Kettle for steaks (reverse sear), veggies and baked potatoes - looks like this will work just fine for that.

Also looks like this can handle a couple of racks of ribs on the primary and another on the upper - plenty of room.

Anyone have any additional thoughts or comments? I appreciate any and all info!

I purchased the Searwood around Labor Day, and am enjoying so far. I previously had a Smokefire so it’s nothing too new to me. The smoke flavor is light, clean, and highly subjective as to whether or not that is what you’re looking for. I still have my 26” kettle for some grilling duties, and KBQ if I want to put my offset pants on, but for everyday cooking, the Searwood checks most of the boxes for sure.
