I have had a smokin brothers pellet grill for about 7 years, used smoke ring pellets or smokin brothers pellets and never had a flame out

Do all brands of pellet smokers have flame out problems?

Backyard Jambo, T1000 Woodmaster, MAK 2 star, 14" & 22" WSM, 2x 22" Weber Kettle, Stoven, Hot Box Grill, Hasty Bake Ranger, RecTeq Bullseye, GMG Davy Crockett; Original Grilla and others I'm not remembering!
BC Buck, what temp you running? Too low can cause flame out because pellets will snuff fire when auger dumps. I don't cook lower than about 240 with any pellet grill.

Interesting, I've never had a flame out running on smoke setting (modulation between 180-200*) or at 225* which is what I run at half of the time. I have a Pellet Pro setup on my Pitts and Spitts.

See I don't understand that CandySue, I run my old Traeger all the time at 180 and have never had a flame out on it. The Grilla Silverback is a different story though, if I let it go a little too long between burn pot cleanings I can usually count on a flame out, all I have to do is clean it out and I am good to go when that happens and I can cook on it at 180 as long as it is clean.

Well instead of everyone saying they don't have flame outs, let's see if we can help the poster. There was another recent post here where I believe there was a similar problem. I think it was concluded that the poster's controller must have been the culprit, but it sounds like you changed that out already. Make sure that you auger is turning properly with no jambs, then make sure your combustion/exhaust fans are operating properly, they may not be blowing enough air to aid in combustion. If your hot rod is starting your burn pot then it's probably not the problem. Also, as was mentioned, keep your burn pot well cleaned out before you operate the cooker.
As always though, when in doubt call the manufacturer and see if they can diagnose the problem for you. Camp Chef is in business to stay, their customer service should be there to help. If not, wear them out with phone calls !!!

I don't use "smoke" settings. Only flameouts I've had were using a Stoker on the pellet Jambo. It modulated temp so precisely that the pellet dump on marginal coals with fan blowing. Extreme temp control, in my opinion, causes inefficient smoke flavor and performance issues (flame outs).

Only had one flame out using my Rec Tec. Turned out to be user error. The problem was an auger jam caused by dust. The dust came from the bottom of a bag of pellets when I poured the entire bag (including the dust) into my hopper. Cleaned out the auger tube with a vacuum and have not had a problem since. Now I sift all of my pellets using a colander that has holes a little smaller than a pellet.

Only flameout I ever had on my Rec Tec Trailblazer was when I let it run out of pellets. I was inside watching the WiFi app wonderin why the temp was dropping off so quickly. Was ready to worry about that WiFi controller being not so good, but it really is (good).
