We're travelling to Reno next week for my nephew's college graduation and I have been tapped with grilling up a bunch of tri tips. There is a Rec Tec RT680 available for the task.
The ceremony is in the morning, with the celebration BBQ in the afternoon. I plan on SV'ing the roasts while we attend the ceremony, then finish them on the grill for the party.
Questions: Can I get a good sear with the RT, and is there any nuances I should consider with the RT?
I have used my trusty old Traeger for years so I'm familiar with pellet pooper concepts.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
