Mr. Bones re-place is exactly how it sounds. It means to move something to a new location. Everyone just leaves out the "-" because it’s easier to type. ðŸ˜
Getting rid if something would use words like discard and dispose. I think the word police normally prevent those words in here. I had to get special permission to even use them.
Welcome to the pit from Southern Illinois. The only outdoor cooking devices that I have ever disposed of were completely used up and worn out. As in a couple of cheap gas grills and a brinkman round charcoal smoker. My original kettle grill bought new in 1977 is still in use. MCS is real. Give in to it, you cannot resist.
How can Man live with only one, your not wacko, I just ordered a new charcoal grill yesterday, Char broil, had to have it. i needed it, it was necessary, On sale, free delivery, come's already painted, perfect size, spring is here, they will love the great BBQ that come's off it. Has wheels, use you witt to sway your honey.
I can totally relate. I'm trying to get my 13-year old daughter interested in my smokers but I've had no luck so far. I can see my stuff on Craig's List for pennies on the dollar.
I’d get a thermostatic controller and rig it to tend the primo. If I can get 12-14 hours completely unattended with good smoke at the low temp I want on a pk360 you should have no problem achieving that on an insulated ceramic. A dragon fan or hairdryer can get you searing pretty quickly after your slow session if necessary.
So as far as convenience, that could rival a pellet, then it’s up to the flavor difference pellets vs charcoal + wood chunks.
If you really are losing the primo there *may* be folks around here willing to adopt one.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I will offer to pay one way shipping ( ) for that Primo XL if your definition of "replace" actually means "discard". I've always been drawn to those as my kamado choice should I ever get up the nerve to venture there.
As a ceramic cooker, my answer is yes. But, have fun and get the cooker that makes you happy. I have a theory about MCS. We just want the experience of cooking on a different cooker or the challenge of getting good at it. Maybe you have gotten so good on your Pimo that the challenge is gone and you are bored. What do you think?
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Texas Larry I can understand the need to simplify sometimes. A friend of mine in Orlando had a gas grill and a Kamado Joe. He recently got a Camp Chef Woodwind with the gas sear box, and is getting rid of both the other grills. With just two of them in the house, he finds that the Woodwind is great for one or two reversed seared steaks, or doing Boston butts for a party. And he didn't want 2 or 3 cookers tying up space out by his swimming pool apparently (maybe his wife made that decision for him).
I personally would get the pellet grill, and keep the Primo, but then, I have 4 grills/smokers already, and plenty of spaces around the back or end of the house to hide them if the wife decides she doesn't want them out by the pool. I keep the two most used out on display by the pool, the rest rolled away to a paved area at the end of the house, out of site, but still usable when I need them.
I'm going to confirm what Polarbear777 said. I have a Fireboard with their "Drive" cable attached to a PitViper fan. I've had no problem setting it at 9pm at 225 and pulling a Pork Butt off at noon. I've done it probably half a dozen times. The best part is, I still have about a quarter of my lump left when it's all done. (Well second best part, the hassle free BBQ is the best part)
I would not get rid of the Primo, it just has so many uses. I would never get rid of mine. Even when the finance committee finally approves my Yoder Loaded Whichita.
Sephon I'm assuming this means that you also have a BBQ Guru device. How does your experience with the Fireboard drive compare? Is the Fireboard drive with a fan a viable alternative?
I got the pellet bug last year I was a serious green egger (they are still wonderful smokers) Got a Memphis pro,Cookshack cb 24, and a Fast Eddy PG 1000(for my Fl home) Selling both eggs and both gassers Afraid i'm hooked
Was in San Diego recently for wedding and rented a house for a week and when I went out on the patio, low and behold sat a Traeger smoker. Got to play with it now I have the bug.
