Well Santa came early and I was able to pick up my new Yoder yesterday. Here's a bit of a photo documentary.
First step was to get the 5th wheel hitch out of the pickup. It is a frikin beast (300 lbs+), and takes 3 guys to get it lifted into the bed. My wife bought me a hitch receiver hoist rated for 600 pounds, so I was able to do most of the removal by myself. The wife did come out and crank it down while I guided it over to the pallet. Only thing I don't like about the hitch is it doesn't stick out as far as I'd like it to.

Here she is ready for the road trip home. Have 4 bags of pellets in the back and I don't like the looks of those rain clouds!

Here she is safe and sound, but we still gotta get her out of the truck. I have a couple 2X12 ramps that I used and my son and I just rolled her down. Then is was up a couple front steps and straight through the front room and dinning room to the back porch.

Here she is on the back porch with the shelves in place.

Here's the first burn starting up. I bought the two piece diffuser, so I can easily access the burn pot for cleaning prior to each start. My son didn't get here early enough so I had to do a few things in the dark.

And here's what the inside looked like after an hour burn ay 350 F.

I know this is a lot of pics, but I am so pumped to have picked this up. I also couldn't let @Jarod out do me with his chronicles of his new Blazin grill.
The guys I bought it from are located in Cheyenne, WY, and when I picked it up one of the stated "You are going to make a lot of folks jealous." I just smiled and replied "I know!"
Nor sure what I'm going to cook first. I've read where others have cooked bacon first time to help with the seasoning. Is there any benefit to this or will just cooking what I would normally cook on it do the trick?
