That grill looks serious - what was the first cook?

First cook was pork chops, that was all I had defrosted on day 1. Favorite cook was steaks with mushrooms and onions (below)

Sweet. I can't wait to see the Lonestar, I have been thinking about picking up one of their grills for a while. I left a space for it in my kitchen which I'm just finishing up.

That is awesome. I must say though, I'm more envious of your shop. If you can fit that large a grill in there, and still have a massive amount of empty space around it? That's the type of shop I'm looking for.

I definitely got lucky on the shop. I bought the house from a guy that was building it for himself. He's a contractor and he was going to run his operation out of the property, so I ended up with a 2000 sf shop...warehouse more like

Disregard the mess in the shop, but here's the outdoor space. Kitchen going to go on the side where the sonotube "stools" are. Got the construction of the footing for retaining wall, and also a gratuitous lamb cook I went to at a coworker's place over the weekend.

CaptainMike - Absolutely. A meet/meat up is essential. I am putting up a BBQ pavilion right now. It will not come close to what we are watching in this thread or what you did. It will keep me much drier in the winter, though.

CaptainMike, while I'd love to live in El Dorado Hills area, it's too far from my work. I'm in Vacaville..good guess though!

As I'm getting closer to pouring the slab for the pavilion/outdoor kitchen, I need to finalize my layout for the grill and smoker, also need to figure out hood/vent or no hood/vent. I'm thinking to do L-shaped with a counter top (38" to finished grade) directly adjacent to the swim-up bar coping (42" to finished grade) then have the Argentine grill built in perpendicular to that and the LSG next. You guys think with the structure being a frame-esque with open trusses and two fans, i will have sufficient air flow to not get smokey?

My covered porch is open on 3 sides with a vaulted ceiling and I have no problems with smoke. I did put in 4 operable skylights and that adds light and takes even more smoke out.
