    Outdoor BBQ Space/Shed for SheilaAnn

OMG! BF just asked if I wanted a shed for for my bbq stuff. 🙀🤯🤩 I did not want to hijack Katee thread, so I started my own.

Help me, Pitmasters, you’re my only hope!

seriously, the first thing he asked is how big? I said the bigger the shed, the more 💩 I will put in it! 🤣🤣🤣 Katee what size will yours be?

May I get thoughts on materials? Windows? Lighting? Flooring? Shelving?
I am asking because I do not know what I do not know!

and don’t ask about budget, because BF fights me on this all the time. I ask for a budget, he asks what I want? I ask how much can I spend, he says it depends on what I want. In almost 25 years, I have not and will not win that argument. Welcome to my little slice of paradise! 🥂

Below is one I built. As I thought it would be too small. I believe it is 8 X 14. I would have made it larger, but I didn’t have the skill set to expand the plans I was using. The more you close it i the higher you cost will rise. I you pour a slab it will be a significant part of the your overall costs. I paid someone to pour the slab and I paid my neighbor to help me build it.

This is the most humble thing I ever read from a DIYer in my life. 😂👊🏻

Spinaker My DYI shills are limited. In the process of building this thing we did assemble part of it backwards and needed to undo it and assemble it the correct way. It wasn’t like we didn’t read the plans. Somehow they got reversed in our brains. The two heads weren’t enough. We could have used you as a third head.

We have a double car garage with concrete pad very large. My husband's shop is in the garage. Plus I would never use the garage, because you have to go through a gate and I would have to open the gate make sure the dogs would not get out while I'm backing out a car so we we will never put our cars back there but we have a large driveway so that's not a problem. But now we don't have our dogs or both gone but I still wouldn't put my car that far back and we have plenty of lights and cameras all around the property.

            I recommend 100' X 150' as a start

This is what we did back in 2019. Crew just finished power washing then sanding. Just waiting for a dry day to apply a couple coats of stain. We do have Coolaroo fabric over the top of pergola now and Coolaroo roll down shades on the front and side of it when the sun starts baking us from the West. Looking forward to following your progress!

I read thru the directions a couple times and imagined building it in my mind before I started.
The only thing I needed help with was assembling the four Roof pieces for the very last operation.
Ended up with half dozen peeps helping with that part. Couple long days and I had everything put together cept the roof. It is not a shed. Just a roof.

Here is an idea to work with a budget. Pour footers for the support posts. Create a gable roof using metal roof panels. Build the floor with paver stones as your budget allows. I saw a kit at Costco for about a grand that was larger than 10 X 10.

So this is a shed to store your equipment, not cook under?? Or both?

I want it to be a combo/hybrid. As you know TripleB we certainly don’t have the super cold and snow.

I would like part of it to store stuff protected from the rain (when we get it) and part open air for cooking.
