We broke down and bought one about a month ago to see what the hype was about. So far, we've only done frozen tots, fries, homemade fries, chicken, and reheated pizza. My overall impression is it will be a nice addition to the kitchen once I learn how our particular machine cooks, times and temps don't always work out as recipes state.
DoubleUpOrQuit, my wife is acting like I act when I get a new grilling tool. Last night she was watching the bacon wrapped brussel sprouts go round on the rotisserie skewers humming and giggling.
"Honey, if you want to air fry that, go out to the RV." No, I don't think that will work. I mentioned using the kitchen oven last night, and she - pointedly, may I add - glanced out at all the cookers on the patio. So air fryer it is.
Not sure but I think my wife is your wife's long lost twin!
We got the Ninja Foodi at holiday time and the air fryer is one of the many functions on it. We use it at least 2-3 times a week. I'm sure Ninja makes one that's just an air fryer without getting all the other bells & whistles but the quality is great
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I imagine we will end up with one of these. It can sit on the shelf next to the Instant Pot that my wife wanted and bought on Black Friday 2018, which only *I* have used, exactly once, to make rice...
I don't often offer up my wisdom, but in this case, it's appropriate: Mr Bones-ism: Got a dog? Reckon it's best that ya build em a really nice, spacious house, on accounta, yall inevitiably be sleepin out there, some night, if'n yer married.

I've done many cooks. Hotdogs really come nice, if you like a Rutts Hut ripper. http://www.ruttshut.com/ steak, burger, fish, multiple types of potatoes, chicken, pork and veggies. Guess you get the idea, if you can cook it in an oven or fry it air fryer works.
Yeah, you will have to buy one because she won't stop until you do, it is normal. She has a point though, Air Fryers are a great. I have been using my Ninja AF101 for a long time now. It is a great airfryer for its price, i cook almost all of my food on it. It had 4 modes of cooking, it has large capacity so you can cook all your food at once and because of ceramic coating food won't stick and it is easy to clean. Air fryers are becoming more and more popular, everyone wants to eat healthy food now. I learned everything i know about them on airgrub.com, they will last you for a long time and there is no reason why you should hesitate buying it.
We have a T Fal and my wife wanted it after hearing about it from her sister, we have used it a few times and I works well mostly on potatoes. It is noisy when operating is my only complaint.
