    Butcher’s paper vs butcher’s paper

So, my current stash is running out. I like the traditional, non-coated pink kraft paper. But when searching for paper, there’s also brown paper.

Question 1: Is color the only difference, or is the brown paper coated somehow?

Question 2: Traeger makes their own paper, with print on it. Has anyone tried this? Is it the same as the ‘original’?

The reason I ask is that some of these are hard to get where I live.

I wish I had a better answer for you than "I don’t know"

I would say unwaxed rolls of paper is paper. I have a HUGE roll of what they call the pink stuff.

Here in the US we have ULine which is a big supplier of paper and boxes. Here is a link to their webpage which gives some specs. They have both brown and white butcher paper. Maybe it will help you answer your question.
Uline stocks over 29,000 shipping boxes, packing materials and mailing supplies. Same day shipping for cardboard shipping boxes, plastic bags, janitorial, retail and shipping supplies.

I'll be watching this as I have an opinion but I'll keep it to myself for now until I see the direction of this thread.

I don't know the difference Henrik. BUT, the pink paper is made for food use. If the brown paper is made for food use, you should be OK. If it's not specifically made for food use, I'd be concerned what chemicals were used in producing the paper.

I bought white unwaxed butcher paper from a local restaurant supply store. 1000' roll. I can make briskets until I die...

Thanks, I guess a clarification is in place. The brown paper is readily available here, but it doesn’t look as soft as the pink version, so I’m a bit hesitant. The Traeger pink paper is also available, and it looks good, seems to be similar to the original.

I can only judge them by using photos in online stores, so I can’t be 100% sure. And I need it for a BIG bbq event in less than two weeks, so ordering from the US is not an option.
