    Gloves for Handling Rotisserie Spits

Does anyone have some glove recommendations for handling rotisserie spits? Looking for some gloves that can handle high heat situations so when I take the spit off the grill and I have the spit in my hands... I don't feel much of anything.

    Thanks in advance.

I usually use either a pliers or a basic kitchen hot pad. The pliers (usually needle nose) are also handy for unscrewing the skewers that hold the meat in place. My rotisserie is on a Weber gasser and the "other" end (the one not in the motor) is wooden and needs no protection from heat.

These work great for my rotisserie, moving coals around, reaching in to refill water pans, etc.

Yup ... my "bbq gloves" are basically welding gloves

I use cheap welding gloves from Lowe's. They cost about $10 a pair.

I've tried a few gloves over the years but usually have troubles with the fingers being too narrow...guess mine are fat. With a firefighter in the family now I became aware of the Pro-Tech gloves. As a bonus, they come in many sizes!!! I use a Titan-K, and they are very well insulated, I suppose they have to be given their purpose. Not cheap though:

I bought two of the Weber gloves. They work but are not very comfy.

Welding gloves are the best. You can go to Lowe's and pick up a pair for about $10.

I agree 100% with all of you. Welding gloves rule. Very cheap, robust, and gets the job done. I will never 'go back' to bbq brand X gloves.
