    Stick Blender/Immersion Blender

Silly question? How do y’all clean yours? I mean UNDER the blades? I have the cuisinart one and the blade moves up and down slightly…. But I still can’t wedge in fingers under there, let alone with a scrubby or dishrag in my hand. I soak it and keep running hot water until I think it’s clean enough. Inquiring minds want to know…..

I have the cuisinart one .... and yeah, I do what you do. Maybe there is a trick I don't know about?

A bendable straw cleaning brush gets under there.

I have a Braun, and I can get a rag somewhat underneath there. For those times I need the extra, I have a small flexible wire brush that came with some plastic oil bottles I had bought.

I just run it in hot, soapy water and call it good enough.

this^^^ when I'm finished blending soup etc, I blend a pot of soapy water for 30 seconds or so and then rinse under running water. Haven't poisoned myself yet 🤷‍♂️

As Alan said, harder to remove if you let it dry. That's on anything really

Our Braun's blade coupling is dishwasher safe, so unless I can soak it, then run it under hot water and be comfortable that it's clean, I'll put it in the dishwasher.

Put some hot soapy water in a small container, jar, etc. Immerse the dirty blender then "blend" on high for a few seconds. That usually does the trick here.

I just have not jumped on the immersion blender train yet. Maybe I am missing out... I have enough fun cleaning the wicked blades on my Ninja counter top blender as it is!

Huh. My wand detaches from the power/handle and I just throw it in the DW. Didn’t realize how lucky I am.

I have a Breville and the wand and blades detach from the motor assembly. Depending on what I used it for I will go with the 30 second spin wash in the sink or if neccessary detach the wand and go to town in the sink.

                My Vitamix does the same.

I usually fill a lar with hot water and dish soap and blend that. It cleans most things quite nicely. Worked well with my old one piece blender. I now have a vita mix with a removable head so that just goes in the dishwasher.

On the Cuisinart one I shove the corner of a scrubby sponge under there and move it around until it looks clean, then rinse under hot tap water at high-ish pressure.

Note to self. Don't buy an immersion blender that doesn't have removable blades.

I know I quit here, but still paid through spring so still can read. I keep a box of those denture cleaning fizzy tablets, like Efferdent, under my sink. They are great for fizzing off stuff in thin necked bottles, and these kind of situations. My immersion blender has a removeable/exchangeable head, so I stand in a mason jar of water and throw a fizzer in there. Would work for an attached head, I would think, just fine.
