But really, the knowledge I’ve taken away from you all…that to me..that’s worth the price of admission!
Absolutely. The two cooks I can remember in which I leaned heavily on the knowledge and advice here were my first smoked turkey cook, and of course, my first brisket cook.

Uncle Bob helping me walk through my pizza oven decision. Almost got the Everdure that he suggested, but settled on the Gozney.
Panhead John for posting the Mississippi Pot Roast recipe - well, a ton of recipes from all kinds of folks.
The Hone knife sharpener. I can't recall who posted about it that got a bunch of us to get it.
The HGH gloves.
The Pit Boss Ultimate griddle even though I later switched to the Weber Slate. I should have jumped on the PB when Walmart had their Sierra version, but very happy with the Weber.
Max Good for all he has done for us! Meathead for, well, being Meathead!
I know there are more goods, services, recipes, resource suggestions, non-food related information that I have bought, used, passed on and such. The Pit is The Best $24 bucks a year a person can spend!!!
The Weber Summit Charcoal Grill. I had no idea it existed until joining but a few around here spoke so highly of it that I talked myself into it, and I'm so glad I did. I'm pretty sure I can credit fzxdoc and CaptainMike for that one. It was my first experience with a Kamado so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I absolutely love that thing.
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I would have to say the single best thing I've bought that was INFLUENCED by joining the Pitmaster Club is the original Slow 'N Sear for my Weber Performer in November 2017. I bought it right around the time I joined the club, after reading about it here even before I joined, and think I used the SNS to smoke a spatchcocked Thanksgiving turkey on the kettle, versus using my offset that year.
I had begun using the snake method to smoke on the kettle a couple of years before that but feel the SNS gave me more consistent and repeatable results, with better temp control.
Yall have certainly enabled MCS and influenced other purchases, but I still feel the SNS was the best one overall.
I see lots of folks listing all their MCS, haha! I just tried to condense to what I consider the single best thing I've been influenced to acquire by the Pitmaster Club.
I was already in the Thermoworks world from brewing, but did acquire a Smoke after joining (already had a Dot and Thermapens). I already had Grillgrates but bought more after joining. The griddle was influenced by a local surgeon, but enabled by the Pit. The SNSK was *from* the Pit. The list goes on and on...
My Scanpans, I forget who suggested them but I love them!
Worst thing I've bought was a super budget slicer and the DripEZ cutting board. The cutting board IS useful but what a piece of crap for the cost! The slicer went in the dumpster after 2 attempts at use but it was cheaper than the DripEZ.
I read a lot of comments on AR when shopping for PBC. So my answer is PBC.
I wanted basic charcoal cause I already had gasser’s and I wanted non-electric so it could go camping pretty much anywhere. And also light weight and the PBC meets all that.
Lots of great products but the one I use the most is my Thermapen 1. The rest have been well covered by others. The new FireBoard product that I tested is also high among my favorites, should be out soon.
Hands down the Oklahoma Joe Bronco! Thanks to Panhead John and Uncle Bob for suggesting I look at the Bronco vrs the PBC and WSM. Love the Bronco. It's a great compliment to my Weber Kettle with all my accessories.
I already had a lot of toys for my Weber kettle when I joined up because I was influenced by another group of enablers at the Facebook "Weber Kettle Fans" group. One toy I ordered based on feedback from y'all is the SnS 22" carbon steel plancha. My next splurge, once I'm done with my MA program, is going to be a Weber Slate 36" natural gas rig. Huskee's review caused a horrible MCS flare-up.
This group also introduced me to Wild Fork, and my bank account may never forgive you.

I can confidently blame jfmorris for inspiring the purchase of my 48 inch Camp Chef griddle. And I'm really happy about that! My Thermapen was a gift, but only cause I had mentioned it to my wife and she told my MIL. I use it almost every day. I'd never heard of a PBC til I came here and now I have one and also the PBX. I would say that being here inspired the purchase of my Kamado Joe for sure. Come to think of it, I've pretty much blown my retirement funds as a result of hanging out with you guys!
