We waited a long time but we’re number 166, 167. All was good, but my vote as to the best went to the ribs. She doesn’t pull the membrane and mops. I’ll try that on my next St. Louis ribs.Last edited by LA Pork Butt; June 6, 2021, 04:37 AM.

Well I’m certainly glad TxF doesn’t resemble his avatar. I was slightly afraid it was a selfie.🙂

TxF and lovely wife Julia, Troutman Loren Uncle Bob and lovely wife Lee and myself enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Brett’s Backyard BBQ. Troutman will be posting a review of Brett’s shortly, along with some beautiful food pics! Ever paid $13.50 for a brisket sandwich? No sides or drink included. 😱
We all enjoyed the atmosphere at Brett’s. Open air type setting but covered areas in case of rain, live music and some really good people. 👍Last edited by Panhead John; June 5, 2021, 12:37 PM.

Clark For sure. The little hamster wheels in my head are turning. I’m already consulting with others for a fall Texas meat up. I’m gonna post suggestions for this soon, including dates and possible locations.

I want to add my thanks to wcpreston for inspiring the meat up with his 10 trip through Texas BBQ, Panhead John for organizing the event, to Troutman and Loren for providing the steaks, and to everyone who was able to make it. He all made it special. My son’s take was that it was great to visit and get to know new people like we did before the pandemic. It was great! I am hoping we can pull off a fall event. While it was a long line and a long wait at Snow’s, but it was fun visiting with strangers both in front of us and behind us. There were college students in front of us and two brothers behind us who were raised in vegetarian homes. The were too old to be in adolescent rebellion, but I think they have seen the light. Or, at least the smoke.Last edited by LA Pork Butt; June 9, 2021, 11:14 AM.

My thanks as well to wcpreston for starting the meat up (and for wanting to go to Snow's - I'm stoked to have won the hat and your chair generously saved me from nearly five hours of standing), CaptMike for flying halfway across the US and getting a convertible 'stang during the rainy season, and Troutman for providing the awesome dry aged steaks.
Oh...and I guess that Panhead dude too, for providing logistical supports, a sign, classy plastic plates, some baked potatoes...and renting the most opulent room with the rationalization we would congregate there 🙄🤣
Also a BIG thank you to the rest of the folks who showed up; it was great to meet and interact with you all in person, and I hope we can make this an annual (or bi-annual?🤔) thing!🍻🥂
PS, I'd totally tag y'all but my phone puts all the tags at the top of the post, which completely ruins the feng shui of my post 😎

Loren Even though you left the party before we ended it, cause you couldn’t hang with the big dogs, I’m so glad you came. This weekend was a hoot!
