In a rare turn of events, our Grand Prize winner, , has politely declined acceptance of the Grand Prize in favor of swapping with the Fourth Prize winner, , since he/she hasn't claimed yet. Trading down and bumping a lower-tier winner upward is perfectly fine if that winner hasn't yet claimed. We don't see this very often!
is now this month's Grand Prize winner!<--- January 23, 2026 UPDATE< this winner has declined to accept the prize, and a new winner has been selected. See main top post.
However, he/she has only 1 day left of the original 5 days to respond since being notified of their win or they will face a forfeiture and a new Grand Prize winner will be selected after 11:59 p.m. CT tomorrow. This member has been informed of all of this at the email address in their account details.
And now, Mr is the proud winner of $100 in free Porter Road meat and some world class rubs (after all, you can't eat steel)!
OK - I know you guys, (and gals), think I'm crazy, but I really don't have a place to put another cooker. And the Hasty Bake is really the only one I would be interested in but I don't want to get rid of my kettle, so the meat makes more sense for me.
I thought about selecting a 1st place prize and selling it, but that seems to be against the spirit of AR, so I switched prizes. I'd rather see a member here get the prize anyway.
I did ask my son if he'd like any of the first place prizes and he said the 2 cookers he already has are enough.
Didn't see this until now for whatever reason, but a grand gesture indeed Ron. A little extra life karma points sounds like a great consolation prize to add with that meat to me.
RonB You're a man that knows his own mind! There may occasionally be a question or two as to whether you are in your right mind, but not regarding this. That's a class move my friend!

I like your thought process, RonB. I've wondered about what I'd do or choose if I were drawn for the #1 prize. I definitely don't possess your grace, but it is food for thought.
Prize received! Lots of rubs I'm lookin' forward to trying, and meat from Porter Road. And some great looking meat including short ribs, ( not pictured), very nice looking ribeyes, brisket ground beef, and ground pork, (for sausage using a seasoning my cousins recommended as as close to what my aunt used as they could find).
