What a bunch of hoops to jump through to discover I lost out! Again!!! I am used to checking out the 10 headlines at the top of the page for the current month's winners. So surprise, surprise! There are five pages of comments before I went to the Announcements and Great Giveaway Winners channel to find I wasn't chosen again. Sometimes it hurts to lose, especially if you have to work at it! Congrats to the winners and almost winners!

In the heat of July's embrace, I dreamed of winning, the ultimate chase.
A BBQ sweepstakes, smoke swirling high,
But luck slipped away, like a fleeting sigh.

The smoker's promise, a sizzle and song,
Each savory scent, where dreams belong.
But fate had other plans that day,
As victory danced, just out of sway.

I marinated hope with tender care,
Yet fortune's brisket, rare to share.
Each entry a prayer, each drawing a test,
Yet every prize eluded, jest after jest.

Oh, how the flames of hope did rise,
To savor those ribs 'neath starlit skies.
But the coals of disappointment burn,
As another's name the accolades earn.

So, with a heavy heart, I'll stoke anew,
Dreaming of brisket and wings to imbue.
For in the world of BBQ and grill,
Patience and perseverance work their will.

Though this sweepstakes slips from my mesuite scented grasp,
I'll cherish each ember, each savory gasp.
For in the smoke and fire's dance so fine,
Hope flickers bright, another drawings chance in a months time.....
