    Franklin Pits

Has anyone seen this? I bet it's expensive. This pit looks awesome!
Aaron has brought his handmade pit design to your backyard. Made in the USA, Franklin Pits are a meld of artistry, science, and the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. A family heirloom.

Someone has a thread on them. $3,000-4500 I think.

That's pricey given the dimensions. You can get a Gator Pit 1845 (20"x40" cook chamber) for $2,300. Or, the Party Gator (similar dimensions but with a menu of upgrades) for $2,600. You are getting a double-walled firebox on the Franklin and it comes with a water pan shelf, but I don't think those upgrades are work the extra $850-$1,400 over a stock Gator. And you can spend the difference on customizing the Gator to your specs. E.g., tuning plates, 1/2" firebox, insulated firebox, you name it. They are a custom pit maker and they've been doing it a long time. If I had to do it over I'd go with a Gator pit.

Jerod Broussard Price is what you pay, and value is what you get.

I'm sure I value an $1800 compound bow a lot more than you.

Jerod Broussard Depends, is it a bow made by Aaron Franklin?

Haven't seen a video of one in action yet but it seems like you'd be paying something similar to the "Apple tax" for a pit with Franklin's name on it.

I think he uses one of his prototypes in his recent videos and Masterclass videos.
