Fortunately my wife really likes the food that I've been making so she has never complained. It also helps that she rarely steps foot on the backyard patio LOL.
About that logo, I’m gonna think Mr. Bones will recognize a similarity, caught my eye almost immediately. Very cool lookin rig. Really glad that thing didn’t tip cuz it would have done a number on you.
I promise, my daughter does not check out BBQ logos.... any similarities would be a pure coincidence LOL. As for the rig almost crushing me, I plead temporary insanity.... I badly wanted it off of that truck and into my garage!
Great video and walk around. I had a similar story when they delivered my offset, except they actually dropped mine from the back of the truck. Refused delivery and had to get another one shipped out. It was a small nightmare, but eventually got my smoker.
congrats and looking forward to some pics on your future endeavors.
Well the delivery company called me in the morning to tell me it was damaged. I had to see it physically to refuse delivery. Basically dropped on the handles and bent in. The driver said, "don't worry, they'll ship you another one"......yeah. Fortunately Jamie had another backyard model from a cancelled order. Took about another 1.5 months to get it. But I got it now. 😁
Congrats on the new addition to the family Ken! What are you going to cook first? Or did we already miss the first cook? I see this was posted 2 days ago..
Also, mannnn.... I winced hard when it almost fell, even after seeing the time-lapse. I hope my coworkers thought I was reacting to a contract provision or something!

I have to jump in here. Being a delivery driver and delivering using the same size truck, lift gate and method it’s a wonder you didn’t get crushed. Inexperienced driver is an understatement.
Since our cooking rigs are so bulky and heavy and have to have them delivered in this manner never try to hold it up to save it. That’s why carriers have insurance to replace the damaged merchandise not a damaged human
if you ever see a driver try and deliver an item like that then stop him immediately. Instruct him to lift the box 1 inch off the floor of the truck, and lead with the big wheels off the lift gate first.(where the lift mechanism and handle is). Let the big wheel slide off the lift gate it will hang over the back of the lift gate when the pallet jack slides off then the crate will come down and rest on the lift gate.
The way this driver did it he could of been launched him in the air if it fell off. Search some you tube videos and you will see.
One day at work I got the privilege of delivering a Kamado to a lucky guy as soon as I I saw it I was so jealous. And I knew what the price of it was so I wanted to take extra care of it and make sure it arrived in pristine condition.
When I got to the lucky mans house he stood and watched along with some of his ranch hands
when I got ready to roll the large wheels off the back of the lift gate I explained exactly what was going to happen, that the big wheels was going to slide off the gate but the crate was going to land or rest on the lift gate. I also instructed him not to attempt to catch if anything went wrong and just to let it fall. (With the accessories etc the wooden crate was around 6 ft high)
apparently one of his workers didn’t understand quite so well and when the pallet jack rolled off and made a noise he ran to try and "catch" the box or pallet jack
needless to say, everything did what it was suppose to do and was perfect
however, if it would of fell off, it would of killed him
Both the owner and I gave that man a scolding. Do I feel bad about? No. Maybe he learned something that day
please everyone be very careful when getting your large freight delivered to your homes. Always remember items can be replaced and hospitals don’t allow smokers in the hospital rooms when you are recovering from an accident
very nice video and documentary congratulations on the cooker
Great video! Keep ‘em coming. Glad to hear there’s a guy posting cooking vids w LSG. That’s what’s missing from their site. This had me drooling again for one of these. So it looks like the 42†refers to the whole length including the firebox. Do I have that right? If that’s true, how long in the cook box?
