I shouldn't be allowed at Costco Unsupervised

Told Stacy I was going for a brisket and a bag of charcoal .... left with a brisket, a 3 pack of ribs, a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of vermouth (Manhattans, hellooooooo), a case of NA beer, a 4 pack of Irish Death and TWO bags of charcoal .... and the woman behind me in line has my email address to give her hubby cause she wants me to teach him how to cook brisket LOL

Nice pickup. Have you had the bourbon before. The pricetag alone almost made it jump into my cart last time I was there.

Picked up a big bottle of Four Roses and their fire hydrant sized vodka last time I was in one with liquor (ours here don't carry any). Price was right, that's for sure!

This is the first time I've picked up the Kirkland Bourbon ... but at $30 for 1.75L I couldn't say no. I'll have a Manhattan tonight and see what I think

Yeah my wife says the same about me.

My damned Costco stopped carrying beer ENTIRELY. WTF man.

ecowper you got me, man. It's been over a year since I've seen beer at our local Costco. <sadface> My local liquor store has been happy, though. lol I been buying all my Dos Equis Amber, Negra Modelo and Smithwick's Red Ale there, along with an occasional outlier of other types.

You just surprised me with buying hard stuff...the state gave up their iron fist for hometown powerhouse big box?

C&P the first post of this thread. I’d make the section about probing a larger font or all caps, but otherwise it’s perfect. Excellent job!

I don’t see the problem Eric. It’s not like you came home with an unplanned laptop or 75” Samsung tv. Heck, you didn’t even buy a case of chicken thighs to grill on July 4.

Uh Oh, Costco opening in my town in 6 days. I will have to shop on the day Joanne volunteers at Ronald McDonald house of Charity. That way I can sneak my “haul” into the house without being seen.
(oh yea, we have had that for a while)

After work on Tuesday, my wife and I met at the Costco by the office with the intention of seeing if they had the puzzle my daughter's friend drew and was made into a puzzle (my daughter is a character in the picture). Apparently, Costco carries this brand. Well, ours isn't one that has them unless it's the holidays, but we couldn't leave there empty handed. $300 later, our fridge and pantry is overflowing and I didn't even get brisket. Hanging my head in shame.

A 19.5 lb brisket can be broken down into

              5 lb point
              8.5 lb flat
              6 lbs of trim

I broke the flat into two hunks of 4 and 4.5 lbs and the point into 2 of 3.5 lbs and 1.5 lbs …. Currently I plan to cook 1 hunk of flat tomorrow, the rest of the meat is frozen for future meals. And I’m rendering the fat into tallow right now.
