My name is Kevin Sanders and I reside in West Plains, Missouri in the middle of the beautiful Ozark hills. I have been grilling for many years learning different techniques from my Air Force brethren until I left the USAF in 1995. I now work for a defense contractor still assisting the military any way that I can.
I have recently purchased an offset smoker and have mastered a couple of things, but am eager to learn a whole lot more. I actually am getting started late in age at 53, but I find now I have more patience and just love spending the time outdoors and smoking meat. If I can get good enough I am wanting to open a bbq catering business. I have had comments that my pulled pork is the best in West Plains from fellow workers at my job, but I would love to take it to the next level and I think this pitmaster forum can help me accomplish that.
Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this pitmaster club.

Welcome Sandman. Sounds like you're just a pup at 53. I'm 57 & a retired high school principal. I'm setting up a bbq and wood fired pizza catering business myself. Sounds like we are both driven by the same force, those we feed telling us how good our food is

The Broil King Signet 320 is a modestly priced, 3-burner gas grill that packs a lot of value and power under the hood including dual-tube burners that are able to achieve high, searing temps that rival most comparatively priced gas grills. Click here to read our complete review.

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It’s among the best bargains for a smoker in the world. This baby cooks circles around cheap offset smokers because temperature control is so much easier. Click here to read our detailed review and the raves from people who own them.

A Propane Smoker That Performs Under Pressure

The Masterbuilt MPS 340/G ThermoTemp XL Propane Smoker is the first propane smoker with a thermostat, making this baby foolproof. All you need to do is add wood to the tray above the burner to start smokin’. Click here to read our detailed review.
