Been visiting this site for several years after preparing a Thanksgiving turkey with Meathead's recipe and became a member this past November. Kept meaning to post, but would forget only remembering as I read the winner each month of the giveaway.
BBQ started at a young age with a dad that was always in charge of the July 4th family reunion cookout. Fell in love with bbq'ing over the cement block pits at those gatherings. My wife got me a cheap offset (long since retired) when we bought our first house over 11 years ago, and I haven't stopped since. Now use a Primo XL, Weber gas grill, and since joining this forum, bought a PBC for my dad (and my use at parent's house
) and a Joule as the latest purchase a month or so ago, just in time for the wife's birthday dinner - apparently ruining this year's Father's Day surprise.
Drawn to this site due to the detail and the scientific background on various processes covered in articles. Also love the wealth of information available in the Pit from all that posts. Looking forward to contributing any way I can!
