    Hello from Franklin, TN

    Hi all,

    Been visiting this site for several years after preparing a Thanksgiving turkey with Meathead's recipe and became a member this past November. Kept meaning to post, but would forget only remembering as I read the winner each month of the giveaway.

    BBQ started at a young age with a dad that was always in charge of the July 4th family reunion cookout. Fell in love with bbq'ing over the cement block pits at those gatherings. My wife got me a cheap offset (long since retired) when we bought our first house over 11 years ago, and I haven't stopped since. Now use a Primo XL, Weber gas grill, and since joining this forum, bought a PBC for my dad (and my use at parent's house ) and a Joule as the latest purchase a month or so ago, just in time for the wife's birthday dinner - apparently ruining this year's Father's Day surprise.

    Drawn to this site due to the detail and the scientific background on various processes covered in articles. Also love the wealth of information available in the Pit from all that posts. Looking forward to contributing any way I can!

    Hi Mike_75 I just joined about the same time as you after getting a Kamado grill. I haven't had your experience but really enjoy the help I find here and the great recipes. My wife is loving it!!! Welcome aboard!

              FireMan - Loving the PBC. I looked at a number of smokers. Really liked what I read about the PBC and love it so far. Will definitely be adding one at my homestead as soon as I can. Really impressed with the juiciness of the chicken, and did 3 butts and 3 tri-tips this past weekend. All were great. Only wish I had taken pics. Forgot in the rush to get the food to the crowd - first butt was literally gone before I could get the second one pulled. Been an easy learning-curve - especially with the plethora of information on this site.
