Welcome from Northern CA. The nice thing about a big family is that it gives you more excuses to cook large meals. I had only two kids and they are both out of the house now. I find plenty of excuses to cook big meals still but it's not as easy to keep track of them all. You can't double back on them or you get called out.

I've got some unique finds in Single Malts. Love to share if you're in the area--bring some Yuengling!

I Like the smoky, peaty ones, like Lagavullin, Laphroaig, etc. The west Highland Oban is superb, as well as Dalwhinnie. And Talisker is great. I just recently found a new one that I like. I can't remember if it is a blend. It's called Monkey shoulder.

We have very similar tastes Thunder77 . Laphroig has been my go-to since I discovered it about 4 decades back, but of the others you mention that I've had, I'm in!

Welcome kmhfive .... a fellow cigar and scotch fan is just what this place needs! And yes, on a lazy Saturday afternoon, while the brisket is cooking, I fire up a cigar, pour a finger of scotch, and tell the family I'm "tending the grill" :-)
