OK, you all managed to convince me to join.
I started smoking meat in 1980 or so, burned or rusted out three cheap upright water smokers, then went equipment-less for a couple of years following a divorce. Got a BGE in 2002, which has held me to the current time, with a supplemental TEC Cherokee from when we were doing without a kitchen in 2014.
I've loved to cook since maybe '72, have tried a lot of different things, from macrobiotic (70's) to BBQ brisket & etc to sous-vide to pressure-cooking to woks to BGE Neapolitan-style pizza, charcuterie/salumi, French and Chinese classics, "Food Lab"/Modernist, and most things across the spectrums between. It's the adventure of learning that matters - not to mention the results!
Lived lots of places: CT, Northern CA, MA, now NJ with an eye on coastal ME. Have been fortunate to experience great Q across the south on business travel.
Work as a professional cat herder (whoops, I mean software engineering manager / executive).
I see a KBQ in my future along with a wood lot.
Eat well, be happy, keep learning!
